I take a lot of pictures. I love taking pictures. I have always been of the mindset that you have to have evidence that it happened. Otherwise, did it really happen? Were you really there? If something or someone tries to dispute something, there is proof! I believe a picture really is worth a thousand words.
Living in beautiful Charleston, I have many opportunities to get great pictures. Sometimes after a busy day at work, trying to get to a place to see the sunset before it is gone becomes my personal challenge. The sunset does not last long. It is just a few minutes. Arriving a few minutes before allows me to capture all of it. The actual myriad of changes that the sky goes through until dusk finally comes is just a miracle. Only God can paint the sky that many colors. I normally do not use any filters. Nor do I do a lot of editing. That can spoil the picture.
Recently I had someone ask me if I found pictures on the internet and just posted them. REALLY? She did not believe that with my schedule and other activities I had the time to actually take REAL pictures. SMH! Of course those pictures are mine. REAL! Getting those great sunset shots or sunrise are the best parts of the day. I was not rude when I explained it to her. I just made her realize that I plan for beauty in my day. Planning for it is the best part of my day, even though it is at the end of the day.
I live for those quiet moments when the day sky is about to slide into night. Purples gather to replace the brightness of the day, ushering in sooty, indigo clouds that turn the sky to dusk. There is nothing better or more beautiful. When I look back at those pictures I can say I was there. I saw that awesome sky that took my breath away. My life is tied up in pictures!
